Creating a Document  Genealogy

 

 

 

 

A genealogy can be created for documents, tasks and projects.

To create a document  genealogy

1.On the genealogy window select the object as document.

2.On the tool bar click Create.

New Genealogy window is displayed. The type of genealogy is displayed as Document.

3.Enter the code and description for the genealogy. Both the fields are mandatory.

4.Click Save to save the genealogy. A message Genealogy created successfully is displayed.

NOTE: If the button Save & New is clicked, the created genealogy is saved and the window for creating a new genealogy is displayed.

Genealogy Configuration window is displayed.

On the window details of the created genealogy is displayed. Different configuration options are grouped below the following tabs.

NOTE: After creating a genealogy, if security rights and properties are configured later, to open the Genelogy Configuration window, select the created genealogy and on the genealogy window tool bar click Properties .

Security: A set of security right to control different operations that a user or user group can perform on an object is defined here. Security rights can be defined for User and User Group.

Custom Properties: Custom Properties defined in the Custom Characteristics Master can be managed here.

Default Properties: Different properties necessary to configure a genealogy as per the requirement of the organization can be defined here.

UI Customization: Properties that are to be displayed on document and task addition window, and document and task details window can be selected here.

By default the tab Security is selected.
