RFI’s are of legal importance, which is referenced for making crucial decisions during the project. RFIs may need to be managed by different groups of people. For Example: The engineering related RFIs may needs to be handled by the engineering team, while any procurement related RFIs are to be handled by the procurement team. Hence different teams of people may need to have different access permissions to RFIs of their area of work. This necessitate RFIs to be categorized based on the use. Hence it is required to categorise RFIs based on the type. RFI types are to be created as a master list shared across the projects so that various management reports can be created based on it.
RFI types are created from the Masters configuration window.
To create an RFI Type
1.On the Global menu click Utilities>>Masters.
2.On the Masters window click tab Others.
3.On the list of master types listed click RFI Type Master. RFI Type Master window is displayed.

On the window RFI types already created are displayed.
4.Click Create to create an RFI Type. RFI Type Details window is displayed.

On the window enter values for the following fields.
RFI TYPE NAME: Enter a name for the type of RFI. This field is mandatory.
ITEM TYPE: Select an item type for the RFI type. On the drop-down list items types available are General, Document and Tender.
DETAILS: Enter details regarding RFI type.
USER GROUPS: User groups can be added to RFI type. Click the add button to add user groups from User Groups window.
AGEING DAYS: Specify Ageing Days for the RFI for High/Medium and Low Priority. If values are specified in masters it inherited to the project. These fields are blank by default.
5.After entering the details click Save.
A message RFI type details saved successfully is displayed.
Created RFI type is displayed in the grid.
