In case you want to know whether the recipient of the mail has opened it, you can enable the tracking option. Tracking option confirms that your message was opened.
NOTE: Tracking option is enabled by default if the setting for enabling this option is defined in Personal Settings>> Correspondence.
To enable tracking option
1.Select the check box next to Track This Mail before sending the mail.

When the receiver of this mail opens the mail, the sender is notified. The notification appears as an icon next to the opened mail in the Sent Items folder as displayed in the following figure.

On clicking the icon, Mail Track window is displayed with the name of the user and date and time when the mail was opened.

NOTE: Email delivery notifications is also be available for external correspondences . The read receipt mail is delivered to sender’s email ID when viewed by external users
